The Adolphus
Beaux-Arts grandeur since 1912. The historic hotel wedding.
The Adolphus has been the historic Dallas wedding hotel for over a century — Beaux-Arts architecture on Commerce Street, the most ornate ballroom in the city, and the French Room legacy upstairs. It scales from 60 guests to 400, and the two ends of that range are two completely different weddings.
Collections from $1,200. Photography only. Full galleries in 5–10 business days, depending on your collection.
Two Ballrooms, Two Weddings
The Grand Ballroom is the largest and most ornate room in Dallas — book it when the guest count is real (200-plus), because the room needs bodies to come alive. The Junior Ballroom seats 80 under a leaded-glass skylight that does the lighting work for you from 11am to 2pm — the rare ballroom that photographs best at midday, and the right room for an intimate Adolphus wedding.
The Corridors Are the Secret
The Beaux-Arts grand staircase off the lobby is under-photographed and dramatic. The 19th-floor French Room corridor — Belle Époque mirrors, gilded plasterwork — is the strongest interior portrait location in the building, especially at twilight. The wood-paneled library lounge stays quiet before 5pm.
Timing the Building
The Murchison Suite, the bridal suite, faces east: beautiful from 9 to 11am, flat after. Schedule getting-ready frames in that first window or move portraits down to the French Room corridor. Avoid lobby portraits during the weekday downtown lunch rush, and don't plan on the original 1912 elevators as a photo set — they are working hotel infrastructure.
