Ceremony / Room

The Grand Ballroom holds 250 seated with column architecture that compresses the room beautifully. Outdoor ceremony on the front lawn faces the clubhouse — golden hour light hits the columns at 6 PM in summer.

Getting ready

Bridal suite is on the second floor with west-facing windows — direct sun 4 PM+ requires sheers. Suite is intentionally restrained — most film-friendly portraits happen on the staircase landing one floor below.

Hidden corners

• The members-only library — wood paneling, oil portraits, low light. Only available if the host member books it in writing
• The pro-shop side entrance courtyard — quiet, shaded, great for bridesmaid candids
• The kitchen pass-through window for chef portraits if catering coordinator allows

What not to do

• Do not arrive without a member host present — DCC enforces member-sponsorship for every vendor on property
• Do not photograph club members at the bar without explicit permission — privacy is a hard rule here

• Oct–Nov Veranda 4:45–6:00 PM

Ceremony / Room

Great Hall seats 110 for ceremony; Loggia and Veranda give ceremony-to-cocktail flow without an awkward room change. Late fall through early spring is the best outdoor window.

Getting ready

There is no on-site bridal suite — getting-ready happens off-property (most often at Rosewood Mansion across Turtle Creek). Plan a 20-minute first-look window on the West Porch before guests arrive.

Hidden corners

• The marble main-floor staircase from the Loggia — east-facing, soft morning light
• The mature oak grove behind the Veranda — golden hour couple portraits without a car ride
• The Music Room piano corner — warm tungsten ring shots after dark

What not to do

• Do not plan amplified music outdoors after 10 PM — Lee Park noise ordinance is enforced
• Do not promise parking — Turtle Creek street parking only, no valet in base rate

Ceremony / Room

The Promenade Terrace fits 60–80 for ceremony with the Turtle Creek tree line as backdrop. Indoor backup is The Pavilion — small, intimate, fully draped.

Getting ready

The Mansion Suites get clean western light from 3 PM onward — beautiful but hot. Pull the sheers for the first-look frames and reopen for portraits when the sun drops behind the trees.

Hidden corners

• The original 1925 carved Italian-walnut Sheppard King library — gorgeous brown-on-brown ring shots
• The fireplace nook in the Mansion Bar between the lunch and dinner rush (3–5 PM)
• The discreet servant staircase from the second-floor suites — great for unposed bridal-party walks

What not to do

• Do not stage portraits on the front porte-cochère — it is the active hotel arrival and security will move you
• Do not promise sparkler exits — Mansion fire code prohibits open flame on the property

Park Cities backyards range from 0.5 to 3 acres. Anything over 75 guests requires tent rental and a generator for catering — coordinate early. Pool patios make the strongest ceremony altars without additional decor.

Getting ready

For backyard estate weddings the bridal suite is the primary bedroom. Scout the room a week before — light direction varies by lot orientation and tree coverage. The home itself becomes the green room, the dressing room, and the gallery.

Hidden corners

• The kitchen island for ring/details when staged before catering load-in
• The home library or study for grandparent portraits — warm and quiet
• The driveway gate / front-porch entrance — under-photographed but emotionally rich

What not to do

• Do not start setup before the catering tent goes up — once tent stakes are in, you cannot move
• Do not assume neighbor consent for portraits beyond property lines
